Onshore Transmission Seminar Draws Strong Interest from Investor Community

Yesterday, Centrus co-hosted a seminar titled “Onshore Transmission – The Opportunity” to highlight the potential infrastructure investment opportunities flowing from energy regulator Ofgem’s initiative to competitively tender the design, build and operation of selected electricity transmission assets in Great Britain from 2017.

Attendees heard presentations from co-sponsors and industry experts Pinsent Masons, Centrus Advisors and Jacobs on the legal, financial and technical highlights of the opportunity and later participated in a lively debate on a range of the issues including the skill set requirements of bidding consortia, design flexibility and the contrasts between this and the offshore electricity transmission tendering regime.

A brochure providing a high level overview of Ofgem’s proposed arrangements to introduce onshore tenders for competitively appointed transmission owners (“CATOs”) is available at the following link: http://www.pinsentmasons.com/PDF/Pinsent-Masons-Onshore-Transmission-The-Opportunity-Brochure.pdf
