Paige Wilson completes 2017 Shelter’s Urban Rush 15-mile run

On Sunday 1st October, our colleague Paige Wilson ran in the 15-mile running event organised by Shelter, a charity that’s fighting hard to combat homelessness across the country. The event started at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford and weaved through the roads of east London towards the finish line in Putney. While most Londoners were either tucked up in bed or reading the Sunday papers, Paige joined over 440 eager runners in the cold midst of a British autumn morning. Running under dark railway arches, through dank pedestrian tunnels and passed derelict shop doors made one think of just some of the conditions the homeless have to endure each night.

Every person and every family deserves a place to call home, a place to grow up, and a place to feel safe and secure. Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness by offering advice, support and legal services. They campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to them for help.
